The SOFC-PPP workshop will be held at the Westin Arlington Gateway Hotel in Arlington, VA from 8am on July 11 to Noon on July 12, 2013. Out-of-town workshop participants will enjoy complimentary lodging expenses on July 10 and July 11, 2013 at the hotel. The Westin Arlington Gateway hotel is 4-star hotel conveniently located within 3 blocks of the Ballston Metro Stop and NSF Headquarters. The hotel has over 10,000 square feet of exceptional meeting facilities, an on-site parking garage ($16/day), an award winning modern Italian steakhouse, a complimentary on-site gym, a complimentary indoor pool, and a full-service Starbucks. Guest rooms are equipped with flat screen televisions, high-speed internet access, state-of-the art bathroom fixtures, and 24-hour in-room dining. Complimentary wireless internet will be provided in all conference rooms.- To comply with a NSF workshop budget reduction request, each workshop participant will be asked to share a non-smoking, double occupancy room containing two queen beds with another workshop participant. Those wishing to have a solo room can have the workshop pay for thier first night, and they can pay for their second night. Rooming requests should be submitted via email to jdn@msu.edu.

Ground Transportation within the Metropolitan Washington D.C. Area
From Reagan National Airport (DCA): (24 minutes) Purchase a $4 one way or $8 round trip Metro (i.e. subway) ticket at the DCA Metro entrance. Take the Blue Line (toward Largo Town Center) from the airport to Rosslyn Station. Switch to the Orange Line (towards Vienna). Take the Orange Line from Rosslyn Station to the Ballston Metro station. The schedule, map, and hours of operation of the DC metro can be found at www.wmata.com. Alternatively, participants can make a reservation for door-to-door van transportation with Super Shuttle. The cost from DCA to the Westin is $20 each direction. Given DC traffic, the workshop organizers recommend the Metro.From Washington Dulles Airport (IAD): (60 minutes) Purchase a $10 one way or $18 round trip bus ticket at the Washington Flyer Coach Service counter located inside the vestibule of Door 4 on the Arrivals Level of the Main Terminal. Take the bus to the West Falls Church Metro station. Buy a $3 one way or $6 round trip metro ticket at the West Falls Church Metro entrance. Take the Orange line (towards New Carrollton) to the Ballston Metro station. The schedule, map, and hours of operation of the Washington Flyer Coach Service and the DC metro can be found at http://www.washfly.com/flyer_bus_about.htm and www.wmata.com, respectively. Alternatively, participants can make a reservation for door-to-door van transportation with Super Shuttle. The cost from IAD to the Westin is $38 each direction.
From Baltimore-Washington International Airport (BWI): (60 minutes) Make a reservation for door-to-door van transportation with Super Shuttle. The cost from BWI to the Westin is $40 each direction.
